Easter Bunny

Another card I made yesterday using a free stamped image from a magazine. The colours are a bit mental on this card, the ribbon especially I think, but Easter doesn't always have to be pastels lol
I'm going to enter this card into the Polka doodles challenge, there's a blog hop as well, but I'm not good at those. I am shy on message boards and things, sounds daft but I am lol

mouse cake

I made this card using a Lili of the Valley stamp I bought last year and have only just got round to using. The card is very plain and simple but I didn't want to go overboard I think the image is too sweet and it's all the card needs :) I'm going to enter it into the challenge at Lili's little fairies, I don't think I'll be making top 3 with it, but we'll see lol x

twit-twoo

I've made this simple and sweet card using a digi stamp from Desmet Designs. It would be a sweet image for a new baby card as well I think. I admit I am addicted to paper rosettes at the moment but they look so cool. If you haven't already please check out my Pinterest board and follow, and feel free to pin your makes to the board too xxx

easter card

This image was a freebie from a magazine and ideal for Easter. I'm making a few Easter cards to sell (or at least attempt to sell) on Folksy. We'll see, I'm tempted to move to Etsy it seems like there are more buyers, a bigger community and they have a bit more respect for papercrafts. I feel like Folksy look down on card making despite the work that goes into handmade cards, for example how often do you see the same sorts of prints and sewn items repeated on the front page of Folksy? And how often do you see a handmade card that isn't just a print on the front featured page? Never.
Ooh I've got a bit political... anyway I think Folksy is great that it's local (in Sheffield where I live) and they encourage completely handmade items but it's a bit snobby lol

grr wonky photos

I've been trying to post this for a few days but the photos have been on a wonk so not bothered, but it looks like I've been neglecting my blog so posted it anyway. Made this card for my mum in law for Sunday, it's a bit blue and green instead of traditional pinks and fluffiness so looks a bit masculine but it's glittery at least. hopefully post a few more cards this week, I have a card to make for my hubby's grandad's 80th so that's a big project, and I've been making some novelty gifts too that I want to share.

Also if you have Pinterest I've started a card board (that sound daft) but I've been adding pretty cards I've found on the blogosphere. it's perfect for inspiration so like and follow if you like it and want to follow it :) http://pinterest.com/janpear/cards/

Liebster award

So I get to update my blog and pass on the fab Liebster award given to me by Rachael over at Angels-23 Crafty Hideout, please check out her blog, Rachael's cards are stunning and she is my DT cohort over at Desmet Designs which is loads of fun :)

The idea of the Liebster Blog Award is to spread the love from one small blog (under 200 followers) to other small blogs. This helps to spread knowledge and readership.
"Liebster" in German means "dearest", so as part of the Leibster award tradition, is to pass this award to 5 blogs that I value, that have both inspired and motivated me.

To accept the award you must do the following:

1) Link back to the persons blog who gave it you and thank them for thinking of you

2) Post the award to your blog.

3) Give the award to 5 bloggers (with less than 200 followers) that you appreciate and value.

4) Leave a comment on the blogs of the five people you have chosen to let them know.

So I have chosen 5 blogs and it was super tough narrowing them down, I've only really got back into blogging recently but there are so many fab blogs out there but these are a few of my faves

1. Saz's Cards
http://saz1984.blogspot.com/

2.Pinksparklegirl
http://pinksparkledays.blogspot.com/

3.Paula Griff
http://paulagriff.blogspot.com/

4.Gem
http://gemshandmadecards.blogspot.com/

5.Sarah
http://sarwestwood.blogspot.com/

I've discovered some of these blogs through Twitter and others I'm luck enough to work with on Desmet Designs dt and Sarah is my bestie who makes amazing wax art works, card designs etc and is very inspirational design wise xxx

very quick post

Just a quick post today, it's Jim's birthday and I've been busy all day so just having 5 mins before I take him up to bed. Just wanted to say a massive thanks to Rachael who gave me the Liebster award on her blog, I'm so flattered and tomorrow when I have more time I will be passing on the award to 5 others who deserve it for their blogs :) I'll blog a bit better tomorrow :)
Also, I am having a bit of a twitter/pinterest flourish I posted a card on pinterest yesterday and it has been a big hit, repinned and retweeted a few times so I'm happy that it has been well recieved. I made it for a friend we are both big New Girl fans and massive geeks so knew she would love it. seems like others do too so might reprise it and offer it on Folksy :)

My ickle boy is all grown up!

He's 5 on Saturday and I have no idea where the time has gone, they grow up too fast. I tend to buy stamps with boys on that look like him, usually Lili of the Valley ones, but this Tilda one caught my eye as he got a bike for xmas. Not a massive fan of these stamps, but this one looks cute lol
right, im off to wrap presents before he finishes school :)

desmet Designs -March Challenge

I am super excited, today is the day of my first Challenge entry for Desmet Designs Challenge blog as part of the DT. The theme for this challenge is anything goes so you can let your creativity run wild :)

For my card I have used the lovely free digi from Desmet Designs you can find it here along with some other lovely images (I especially love the beach hut!) I used My Craft Studio and rescaled the flower digi to make the backing paper and hand coloured the flowers, I also used pink shimmer chalk to tint it but the camera didnt pick up the glitter. I love digi stamps like this one, you can do so much with them like create backing papers and embellishments.

I hope you can join in with the challenge, I can't wait to see all the entries, and also check out the fabulous design team cards, they are all gorgeous and very inspirational.
