hedgehogs and mice
I am not a huge fan of colouring animals, I never get fur right it's either too orange or yellow. I like cats because I can make them grey or orange without it looking mental, but I had a go with this hedgehog and mouse and I am slightly impressed with how they have turned out. The mouse has bled over the lines and I couldnt save it so it is a bit of a mess but otherwise it looks like proper fur. and I think my hedgehog looks cute :) all in all not a bad effort :)

laptop disaster :(
grr the power supply for my laptop died just after xmas so I bought a fairly cheap replacement and it is the most irritating thing in the world, it decides to work when it wants, which at the moment is virtually never, so I'm working on about 10% battery power :(
I wanted to get an update on quickly before it dies on me for good so I thought I'd share a thank you card I made using some scraps I had left over from a card I made for a friend a few weeks ago. I also found these Scrabble tiles in my stash that I thought worked well with the retro feel (I was struggling with where to put the sentiment if it was stamped but this works great I think)
Fingers crossed I'll have more time on line tomorrow for another update.
I've used Portabello Road papers for this card, some of which I love some I'm not so keen on if I'm honest :p

Easel cards and invites...
that's what I've been up to lately, I've been making a few more invites for a friends wedding in summer, I'm planning in my head lots of Angry Bird decorations for James' 5th birthday next weekend and I've been colouring in lots of free stamp toppers from magazines this week so I felt productive :)
I've had some exciting news that I'm waiting to share :) but in the meantime I hope you like my latest card using one of the aforementioned toppers (Margret Sherry I do believe) the stripey paper is a Trimcraft one I bought recently, the happy birthday stamp was a freebie from a magazine. I lost the love for easel cards a while back and I haven't used eyelets on a card for ages so it's technically retro lol

paper rosettes
I've not made a card for a few days (well I have but it isn't great) but I've been making rosettes for a friend to use with her art work. I made her a card featuring one and she loved it, she asked me to make more for her to use for her projects. I've made these with lovely orange and pink papers, I'm loving this colour combo at the moment. I've left these blank (I've not put buttons or anything on) so she can decorate them herself.

Busy busy...
I've been making lots of embellishments tonight but found half an hour to finish off a card, I've made this one for mother's day (I'm trying to get all my birthday/occasion cards done now so any I make the rest of the year can go on the for sale pile) It's quite cute I'm tempted to stick this one on Folksy anyway lol. I'e also made it with the Lili of the Valley challenge in mind (you can find it here) the theme is spring colours so its all pink, yellow, blue, green and flowers everywhere like spring :)
I coloured some white wool pink to wrap around the card with Promarkers, but I should've let it dry before wrapping it around as the pink has seeped into the bottom edge of the card. Oh well there's always something ;)

valentines and getting back into blogging
So I want to get back into challenges and sketches and blog candy etc it's the fun bit of blogging, I've won a challenge and blog candy in the past and it was awesome but to be honest I had/have no idea what I'm doing so hoping this time around for my blog I'll be a bit more interactive x
So first challenge for 2012 for me is the Polkadoodles challenge , I've used hearts on my card on the image (freebie from a magazine) and the funky tickets (freebie from Sillhoutte studio)In fact I think the gingham paper was from a freebie paper pack from another magazine, I'm so thrifty lol
My handwriting is shocking I wish I could write neatly but for want of the perfect stamp I had a go at handwriting my sentiment. bit hit and miss but I think it's pretty sweet all in all.

two posts in two days...
so far so good...
I've made a card this evening, it's a bit bright I'm not sure of it to be honest but I'm trying to be a prolific blogger lol
I'm having some of my makes sold for me next weekend, well I hope they sell, no cards this time just some cup cake toppers and moustaches that slide on to straws so it looks like you have a 'tache every time you sip. simple but fun lol.

ok- Blog!
right New Years resolution and all that, I'm going to start blogging more. I've lost my mojo a bit so if I blog I have to make, and even if the end result is terrible I can justify all the money spent on craft last year because I've actually done some.
So anyhoo I made a card last night (I made a couple but this was the only nice one) I've tried a collage effect that I haven't really done before and I quite liked it. It could be better I stuck the Penny Black sticker straight onto the page and it was sooo sticky I couldn't get it off so had to just go with it. I'd rather of backed it and mounted it but there has to be at least one happy accident per card with me lol
