Digi Choosday week 2- Fashion Divas

Week 2 of the fabulous Digi Choosday challenge over on the Polkadoodles blog and this week I have chosen to make a 3d profect I have been dying to try for ages. The challenge this week is Fashion Divas, which was a perfect excuse to make this amazing wardrobe gift box. The wardrobe is a cutting file available at the silhouette shop and I used papers from the digi download collection Sugar Boys. I thought even though it is a boys collection, the papers were elegant and worked really well on the armoire ;) I also added the cute digi stamp Playing Dress-up, only without the extra wardrobe lol. I think I want to use the gift box to put funky socks in for a friend for Christmas, the drawer opens too so I might have to add some sweets as well ;)
I love the amazing cards and creations the DT have made this week, see them here and join in the fun!!

Songbird Challenges - Dancing Queen

I am so excited this is my debut on the DT for songbird challenges. My first challenge theme is dancing queen, and our sponsor, Saturated Canary, kindly gave us digis
to work with. I went a bit ambitious with the gorgeous Fancy and tackled pleats for the first time. It wasn't perfect but not to bad for my first go. I think colouring folds and things can be a bit daunting but it's always best just to jump right in and give it a go ;)
I really hope you can join in the challenge, it is running for two weeks and the theme is so open to interpretations (dancing, crowns etc) that there is nothing stopping you :)
check out the amazing DT makes here!!

Polka Doodles Digi Chooseday Week 1 - ANYTHING GOES :D

I am sooooooo excited to be part of the Digi Choosday ( I love that name) design team, and for week one anything goes :) Digi Choosday showcases the beautiful digi kits and stamps available from Polka Doodles and the DT have outdone themselves this week so I am so excited to see what's coming up in the weeks to come.
I could not resist colouring in this gorgeous Emma Canning digi stamp Skate Away for my first project and teaming it up with a sentiment (also available from Polka Doodles) and using one of the background papers on the Xmas Joy digi kit. I have added some little blue snowflakes around the sentiment but the camera hasn't picked these up very well :( oh well my lamps should be here next week, I've got the light bulbs but nothing to screw them into O_o. The snowflake was cut on my Cameo and glittered with a bit of spray glitter for a bit of sparkle.
I hope you can join us for this first exciting week and as a bonus there is 40% off at Polka Doodles if you purchase through the digi checkout until Saturday!!!!

Charisma Cardz Challenge - Greed!

It's a new challenge at Charisma Cardz, the theme is Greed and I have made a yummy tea and cake card this week featuring a digi stamp from one of this weeks sponsors, Dr Digi. I love this character, he reminds me of Santa on his day off so I had to put him in a fluffy red tracksuit lol I printed three of the images off and decoupaged them, it give the card a bit of definition I hope :) The journalling card I used was a freebie from Sweetly Scrapped Art.
I hope you join us this week, there are so many images and creations you can make with this theme so I expect it will be popular and the sponsors this week are awesome, Dr Digi's house of stamps, All that Scraps and Sassy studios!
I have had some good news this week as well, I have some new photography lighting coming my way and seeing as my husband works for a professional camera shop I shouldn't have had to wait this long for it, and also two secrets that I can tell everyone on Tuesday!!! I...am...so...excited!!!!!

Charisma Cardz challenge week 37 - Favourite colour combo

Wow, favourite colour combo. Mine seems to change all the time, I'm quite into lemon yellow and grey, then orange and brown. I'm too fickle, but pink and black is a classic combo that I use all the time so I had to use it for this challenge. I have used this lovely, cute image from this week's sponsor Stamp Fairy, using some new techniques to get a textured furry look on Linda the teddy. So the techy bit... use your blender pen on a scrap peice of fabric, then stamp the fabric on the image where you want the texture... simples really ;) it is subtle but goes to show there's more to markers than blending and shadows.
I hope you share your fave colour combos with us at Charisma Cardz this week as I am in need of some inspiration myself, and let me know if you try stamping textures with your blender or if you have any better techniques I can try ;)

Join in the challenge here!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges

playing with promarkers

I coloured the background for this one following a copic tutorial on youtube, and it is so hard to get a perfect colour match so it is a bit hit and miss, but I am pleased with the finished article. I love colouring stamps but often the hard work is done for you in the image, but with this background you have to get a bit arty and experiment with light and texture. I think next time I will outline the clouds in a cool grey 2, I used cool grey 4 and it is far too dark. Tbh I only used 4 because it had a fine tip on already and I was being lazy :(

I wish I could remember all the colours I used on the sky, like a numpty I didnt write it down but if I remember correctly it was denim, pastel blue and cornflower for the fluffy clouds and rockpool, duck egg and morning mist with pastel blue as the sea/horizon line. (morning mist is the one I am not 100% sure of so if you want to experiment go for it ;)

I'd like to enter this one into
