Charisma Cardz - buttons and bows

The challenge at Charisma cardz is buttons and bows this fortnight, and I have used some pretty pearlised buttons as my embellishments and used the colour of them as inspiration for the hint of pink on my card. I have kept the rest of the card quite monotone as I love pinks, blacks and greys together, it looks classy ;)
The image is First Date from Time for Tea Designs and makes a lovely image for teen birthdays.
Hope you can join in the fun, good luck xxx

Charisma cardz- anything goes

Omg I'm late with my post this week, I have had a busy one, but the theme this week of anything goes meant I didn't have to do a lot of planning, I could just have a play. I got my poor old neglected crop-a-dile out for this card, I think it is time for eyelets to make a comeback I have far too many that need using up. I have used a sponsor image from bugaboo this week and some cup cake papers I glitered because I didn't like the actual colours on the paper.

Hope you can join in the fun over at Charisma this week, good luck!

charisma sparkle and shine

Oh my gosh my camera did not want to play when I took this photo, despite having my daylight lamps shining on my card it looks like I took the photo in a cupboard. needless to say it is shiny, I used glossy accents,
mirri card and sparkly jewels to make my wedding card shine. I cut down an 8x8 to a 6x8 portrait card and I think it makes it look pretty unique it is oversized but not overpowering.
The digi is from Milk and cookies and the papers were some I found in my stash I'm not sure where they are from but I thought they were quite romantic.
Please join in the shiny fun at charisma cardz this fortnight and check out the gorge DT makes xxx

digi stamps and physical papers

I have chosen one of the gorgeous digis that were recently released as part of the Polkadoodles birthday celebrations, I used one from the Ruth bundle. I think this is such a fab image and have wanted to colour it for ages. I picked some colours from the Kaisercraft papers I used to colour my image in with so it all co-ordinated and added some vellum bunting to embellish.

digi choosday - about the boys

It's all about the guys at digi choosday this week. I used a cute Emma Canning digi for my card this week, Love Boy, and I coloured him sepia trying to keep the card fairly monotone. Unfortunately I had a glitter mishap trying to embellish the love heart so I had to improvise and make a kraft card heart for the boy to carry. I have used brown spotty papers from the Christmas Joy bundle and extra embellishments from Sugar boys collection.

Pop over to the Digi Choosday blog for your chance to win a fab prize, I wish I could enter too ;)

Digi Choosday - dots and stripes

I have used spotty and stripey papers for my card this week, classic and classy I think. These are both from Dollie Daydream as is the sentiment and it all tied in perfectly with the digi, Kiss The frog from Emma Canning. I did a bit more experimenting with my colouring this week, but the skin tone was a bit strong.

Digi Choosday- holiday

I have built a scene up to make my own holiday scene this week using this cute Emma Canning digi. I liked the idea of a summer birthday card for a teen so I set the guitar player on the beach, I was tempted to try colouring a camp fire but chickened out. I like to think outside the box with digis, it gives them a new dimension.
Thanks for looking, hope you can join in the fun this week at the Digi Choosday blog.

charisma- May flowers

The challenge for this fortnight at Charisma Cardz is May Flowers, and I have used an image from our sponsor The Paper Shelter. I have coloured her in Promarkers, it's not my best colouring I have got used to copics now, but I don't have enough colours especially pinks and purples which are must haves for spring flowers.
I hope you can join in the fun and checkout the DT makes they are gorgeous as ever!

digi choosday - embellishments

I don't like to go over mad with embellishments, it's not my style I like a clean and simple approach so I kept it simple and subtle for this week's challenge. I made my own flowers just using white card and a bit of distress ink and gems, and let the image take over the card (found on the Bonbon Belles CD rom). For my info checkout the DT blog and all the DT inspiration, and join in the fun for a chance to win lovely prizes xxx

cupcake topper - digi choosday

The challenge at Digi Choosday this week is to create something for a child's birthday party. Something that can be a bit off putting about making party decorations and favours is having to make lots and lots of the same thing, but digi images makes it easier to bulk make unique decorations. I have used just one element from the flowers and leaves digi bundle and just diecut and decoupaged and added gems for a pretty party cupcake topper, you could add children's names to the back for a personalised touch.

blue and purple

The theme at Charisma cardz this week is blue and purple, I used a cool digi stamp from Sassy Studio designs, I went a vintage route as I thought it suited Mary Poppins. I used my Promarkers to colour the image but I'm not too pleased with my colouring on this one it's a bit washed out.

Hope you can join in and check out the DT creations x

numbers

For my DT card this week I used papers and elements from the jam packed sugar birdies birthday collection, including the number, the cute owl and the sentiment. I cut through the balloon string and replaced it with silver cord and decoupaged the owl so it looks like he is holding it, and added some glossy accents to the balloon and owl.
Hope you can join in the fun at digi choosday this week where it is always everything goes!

Paper piecing- digi choosday

I have never tried this technique with digis before, it is so easy and fun. I used a gorgeous Nikky Hall digi available here and cute Polkadoodles digi papers. I love challenges that get you try something new!
I hope everyone is enjoying the Easter hols, it means I get two weeks to concentrate on my coursework, well that's the theory anyway I also have to find ways to entertain a 7 year old. I cannot wait to be up to date and finished with all my course work, learning is hard lol!

Hope everyone hops over to digi choosday to checkout the DT inspiration and join in the fun xxx

digi choosday - Ovals

It's almost Easter egg time so ovals will be popping up everywhere. I found an oval box cutting file on the Silhouette site and couldn't resist trying it, it was a heck of a lot bigger than I expected :\ I downloaded the flowers and leaves bundle to use for this project, it is jam packed with spring floral papers and elements it was ideal for the idea I had in my head. I have used soft pastel tones and embellished with flowers from the bundle as well as sentiments from the candy doodles cd.

For this challenge I cut a piece of black card to 145mm x 145mm and layered patterned paper on top leaving a narrow border around the edge. I layered a piece of 145mm x 40mm peach patterned paper onto black card leaving a narrow border added it to the centre of the layered square.
I cut the heart frame from the cutie frames silhouette file to measure 127mm x 104mm from black mirror card and enlarged the Some Odd Girl digi stamp to fill a square measuring 90mm x 90mm. I printed and cut it on my Silhouette Cameo and coloured with copic markers. I attached some patterned paper to show through the die cut hearts in the frame and attached the frame to the layered square at an angle. I placed the image in the frame to make it look like a holiday snap. I added the whole piece to a 150mm x 150mm card blank. I embellished the card with gems.

flower power- digi choosday

I have used a fab digi image this week, a little out of my comfort zone as I usually go for characters but scenes are great to colour. I glazed parts of the image to look like rain drops, quite fitting for this spring I think :) Join us at Digi Choosday for the chance to win a fab prize and check out the gorge DT makes xx

animals - digi choosday!

All the papers, the cute fox and the embellishments I have used for my card this week are from the Emma Canning animals and nature bundle, available on the Polkadoodles website. I printed the fox three times so I could decoupage her, and I added little highlights of glaze to her nose, the acorns and leaves. How cute are the little paws!!?! hop over to join in the fun and checkout the DT makes, gorgeous as ever!

Digi Choosday- Girly

I'm not the girliest girl so I like to make girly cards quite understated, and I thought I would make a sweet pastel toned girly card for our challenge at digi choosday this week. I have used a fab digi from the Bon Bon Belles cd and also papers from candy doodles CD. I love the candy doodles cd, I was lucky to win the collection a few years ago and that, along with my trusty sundae of seasons cd, gets used a lot. I added some lace and teeny tiny gems to embellish. Join in the fun its always anything goes!!!
I am at an international women's day event tomorrow making cards and encouraging people to take it up as well as a taking a few cards to sell. I hope it goes well :)
